More Practice!

I finally got a day off so I decided to try another piece. I used Nymo thread this time and it made a huge difference! I really like how this turned out! Then came time to cut the piece out...I really messed up there and cut it way to close. That is ok though, happy I am now making progress. Yay!

I used the Android App to publish this post btw. I am not really happy with where it put the photo and I have no clue on how to change it lol. Thanks for your patience as I learn!

A Bite of Fall

I love fall. The changing of the seasons has always been my favorite times of the year. While it is not officially fall yet the changes are starting to be felt in the air. I live in the South and when you can get up in the morning and it is only 94 degrees you know that fall is fast approaching. We do not have much of a fall here....only a few weeks or so but I love every one. The colors of fall are what inspires me the most. I love the rich browns and rusts of the season. The earth tones that speak so deeply to me.

What is your favorite season and why? How does it inspire you?

A Lighter Shade of Pale

I made another piece last night. I love the color story but I am still struggling with stitching the beads evenly. So I will have to remake this one before it becomes a pendant. It is hard not to get frustrated because I want perfection. Practice makes perfect......Right?

Giveaway!

Therese at http://theresestreasures59.blogspot.com is giving away a wonderful bracelet on her blog. Check it out and enter for your chance to win!

Beads from Afar!

Beading Daily has a wonderful group of forums for bead artists. They also have a bead barter forum and today I sent out packages to two ladies. One in Tulsa OK and one in France! I am really very excited about this. I sent out some stringing type beads and some tiger tail to the lady in OK and she in return is sending me seed beads and some books on beading. The lady in France is receiving 35 grams of sterling silver wire and several packs of sterling findings. She is sending me a large lot of Toho seeds in earth tone colors and several cabs as well! I am so excited! Where I live the only place for me to find seeds is on the internet so receiving them from ladies that do not use them anymore opens up a whole new world of seeds for me. I am as excited as a kid in a candy store. Its a good way to trade and all it costs is the postage. Now if I could just get a day off of work so that I could make something lol

Warmth

I am currently taking an online class from Marcie Abney from La Bella Joya and this is my first finished piece. I love it! Marcie is such a fantastic teacher!

You can see more of Marcie's work at http://labellajoya.blogspot.com/ . I have to admit that she is the reason I wanted to start doing this after coming across her work in a forum. Her work inspires me so much. Thanks Marcie for all that you do for the beading community!
