Beading Babes Reveal and a Giveaway!

This is my first time actually participating in a full reveal for Beading Babes as I have not been a member long.  This time the Babes choose Helena Tang-Lim as the designer for the projects.  We had 2 to choose from.   One was the Echoes of Nefertiti Necklace featured in the June 2012 issue of Bead and Button.

I really wanted to try and come up with something different by using unconventional colors and materials but not alter the pattern to much.  Hence Hippititi was born!

Instead of using coin beads I used these stone Peace Symbol beads which gave the design a bit of a twist.  This piece was made specifically for my 10 year old daughter, who like her mom, loves all things that have the Peace Symbol on it.  She is on vacation right now in Arizona but she will be back on the 26th and I really hope she likes it!  I really struggled with this necklace for some reason.  It is only the 2nd pattern out of a magazine that I have ever made and perhaps I just was not experienced enough to tackle it properly.

The other pattern we used was The Four Leaf Clover Cuff that Helena has for sale on her website Manek-Manek Beads.

I loved loved loved this pattern.  It was so versatile!  It worked up quickly and it did not take a ton of materials to make.  So without further ado here is what I made!

I love this chair almost as much as the bracelet.  Ha!

Win Me!  Read below to find out how!

Modified Four Leaf Clover Cuff
I just cannot say enough nice things about this pattern.  I will use it again and again for sure!  I did make another bracelet with it and modified the pattern but I forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to Therese on a trip to meet her.  Luckily Therese was kind enough to email me a photo of it that she took!  Thank you so very much Therese!

Now for the Giveaway!  You can win this Blue and Green Summery beauty!  All you have to do is be a follower of this blog and leave me a comment here!  Make sure you include your email address so that I can reach you! And you can receive a bonus entry as well! All you have to do is "Like" Spice Box Designs on Facebook @ Spice Box on Facebook.  I will put all the entries together on slips of paper in a hat and let my lovely daughter draw a winner on July 1st.  How easy is that!  I will ship internationally as well!  Plus in honor of the 6th Bead Soup Party Hop coming up I will sweeten the pot by throwing in a nice collection of beads, crystals, and findings to!

I would like to thank Helena for making herself so available to the Beading Babes group and helping us with any questions or concerns that we had.  I really enjoyed the May/June Challenge and a big part of that was from Helena herself!  So Thank You Helena!  Ya'll be sure to check out Helena's other patterns for sale on her site @ Manek-Manek Beads.

Peace and <3

  9. Hi Marla, Wow you knocked it out of the park on your necklace. Way to go way out of the design box and put you very own unique spin on the pattern. I love it the colors are fantastic! I am sure your Daughter will not want to take it off. You already know how I feel about the bracelets you did for this project I love, love them. I just love the one you gave me it is so nice and easy to wear. Please do not include me in your give away it would not be fair since I already have one of the bracelets. Good luck to those that are in the running for the bracelet, that really is a gorgeous piece.
